Description
Abalone shells are used during smudging rituals to catch the burning embers or ash created. Abalone are
sea snails and belong to the family Haliotidae, like the scallop or clam. Each abalone shell has natural
bright and glowing blue/green iridescent layers of Mother of Pearl. To protect this from burning during a
smudging ritual, make sure to use sand or sea salt between shell and burning ashes.
